Weekend Brunch at Tanaka Saimin

This weekend our twin cousins came for a sleepover.  Grandma was kind enough to take everyone for breakfast, even though it was already 11am and everyone had different requests for food choices.  As we pulled up to Tanaka Saimin on Dillingham the car door couldn’t have opened any faster!  We were seated immediately and then crazy ordering happened;

These girls can EAT!!

These girls can EAT!!

We were so hungry, I think we ordered way too much food.  But it was all so good.  From what we heard, Tanaka Saimin is one of the “old school” coffee shop breakfast houses that have still managed to stay in business all these years because all of our grandparents still support them.  Kapiolani Coffee Shop is another favorite of grandma and grandpa’s too.

We’ll admit the food is very “local” and basic but you feel like you’re sitting in grandma’s kitchen and that experience is hard to find lately in Hawaii.

The food was great, the seating was comfortable, service was fast with minimal wait time.  We left there content and satisfied and would recommend this place to other parents who just can’t decide what to eat for breakfast, lunch or dinner! 🙂
